Hey there 👋 We’ve been focused on improving our prototyping tools lately, and we’ve continued to do so with Smart Animate. In this newsletter, we cover everything in our latest release, see (literally) how Sebastiaan de With uses Sketch to build Halide and Kino, and much more. Let’s jump right in! |

Apply Smart Animate to your prototypes to add smooth, animated transitions that make them feel more realistic. You’ll also find a new Dissolve animation for a smooth fade between Artboards or Overlays, as well as controls for duration and easing to all animation types. |
Easily swap Libraries in your documents and get complete control over what gets replaced, whether that’s every component, a specific type, or just a selection. |
Developers can now export any layer in a document from the web app and have full control over things like size, scale, format and filename without any setup in the Mac app first. |
We’ve also brought Color Variables to gradients, given our web app’s UI a refresh and a full Spanish translation to the Mac app’s UI. Check our updates page for the complete list. |
|
In the first installment of our new interview series, Talking Layers, we speak to Sebastiaan about all things Kino and Halide, his days at Apple and take a peek inside his Sketch documents. |
|
We’ve added new Artboard Templates for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro and Apple Watch Series 10. Open Sketch and check your Library updates to start using them right away! |
|
We spoke with the team behind Gentler Streak to learn more about how they’re building a friendlier, more inclusive fitness tracker, the role of data, and what it takes to maintain simplicity in design. |
Co-founder Jasper Hauser walks us through the evolution of the award-winning app Darkroom, discussing how they maintain cross-platform consistency, integrate AI to improve the user experience, and much more. |

We hope you enjoy our latest update and we’d love to hear your thoughts over on our community forum.
Until next time,
